How To Vlog Live Trading
Well if you are a vlogger and trader at the same time by any chance, this is the article for you!
I know it’s very frustrating when you are losing money in trades, but that’s the part of the game.
Well, how to vlog it? is the real game!
But before we start sharing our vlogs, we have to set up our trading desk.
Let’s do it!
Usually, a trading setup is different from the setup of a video editor or a photographer, because they set up a camera that may record for hours in a row.
When you are trading yourself, depending on the speed of your internet connection, you can vlog from anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour per update. In most cases, updates are around 5-10minutes apart.
This is usually enough to cover the good moves and help us learn how to make money when we see high probability opportunities.
So here’s my suggestion:
You will need 2 monitors, one for your charts and one for our setup as a video editor.
I have been using this method since I started vlogging live.
It has not failed me yet!
Make sure you get a fast internet connection, like really really fast.
These are Some Main Components of My Trading Computer
- Core I9 11th Gen Processor
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3000Mhz
My primary monitor has a 27inch screen size, while my second one is a 24-inch screen size. I recommend the same sizes if you are going to follow this setup.
I don’t want to go too deep into technical stuff for this article, but I will try my best!
If you do it right, you should be able to see your charts on one monitor and on the other side of it, our vlogging software setup. Make sure your vlogging application opens in fullscreen mode before launching your charting program! This way you can keep eye on both at the same time. For example:
Setting up your charts in this way might take up some time, but once you get it right, your trading will improve dramatically. This is because you are able to see everything at one glance!
With the dual monitors set up right like this, I keep my eyes on the chart and at the same time, I can still talk with whoever is interested in our trades without missing anything.
It’s very important that we stay focused while vlogging live, so using two screens really improves both recording and trading efficiency!
What About Video Capture Devices? Do I Need Them?
I recommend NOT to use any video capture device unless you have a 4K monitor or TV which doubles as a webcam .
Using a video capture device will slow down your computer and every time you apply any settings to it, it will take even more of your precious time.
If you are recording in HD quality, there is no need for cameras or webcams in my opinion! Also, don’t listen to people who tell you to use an iPhone as a webcam…Do not do it! I did this mistake when I started vlogging live trading years ago.. It doesn’t look good at all!
Instead, get yourself one of Acer monitors with built-in HD webcams if needed. This way everything should work superfine without slowing up our computers too much.
As for audio recorders? The best place to put your speakers is on your desk.
It’s always better to have the voice of our vloggers coming from behind. Why? This way it doesn’t interfere with what we see on our charts and at the same time, it will put the viewer of our video more focused on what you say, rather than how you look!
So I’m pretty sure there are a lot of guys who do already have a capture device or a webcam that they can use for their YouTube channel. If you do then that’s good too, just remember to set up everything beforehand so when the time comes to record, everything will be all set!
So Here's what I Recommend
A PC or Laptop with fast internet connection preferably Wifi
- Core I9 processor or at least Core i7 3rd Gen or higher
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card
- 16GB of ram or more, preferably Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000Mhz RAM for best performance!
This configuration does cost quite a lot but you can always upgrade your computer if required. This way it will give you enough power to run your vlogging live trading videos smoothly, while also having the ability to record the whole thing without interferences. So are there any additional costs? Yes! You will need a good microphone and headphones for this type of setup as well. I use a Blue Yeti microphone and Sony headphones.
Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck guys and I hope to see more live vlogs on YouTube soon.
There’s a lot of potential in this approach and it’s something new and fresh, especially for those who really want to take their trading (and life) skills to the next level.
I’m sure some of you are thinking that this is all too complicated but believe me when I say that once everything is set up properly, your trading will improve dramatically as well as your branding on different social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!
How To Vlog
Now let’s get into the fun part, as soon as you are scanning the market for trade, start making a video of yourself. Talk about how you see this trade and why you are taking it. Keep talking and once your trade hits take profit or go into loss start recording again!
Make sure that the volume is on and try not to move around too much so we can hear you clearly. Make sure there’s no music in the background as well, unless of course, you put some epic movie soundtrack or something like that, just don’t do it! It will distract your viewers from what you’re saying.
Once the trade is over if it was a win then record yourself with your profits/gains and talk about your next trades before ending the video with “Good luck guys!” Or if for example, a loss then end with ” Thank you for watching guys! I hope you enjoyed it, do not forget to subscribe and click on the bell notification button!”
This way viewers will remember you as a vlogger as well as a Forex trader. Also, make sure that you upload your live trading videos at similar times every day so they become routine for those who would like to follow along with your trades!
In conclusion, there’s nothing better than seeing those green tickers popping up on our portfolio page while we are making a video of it. It feels great, doesn’t it? So let’s get out there and start blogging!
